Taipan Titles

So that’s a wrap!

A massive thanks to all at Rosebud YC! Such a well run event, both on & off the water. The team couldn’t do enough us, and everyone was extremely grateful for their hospitality and professionalism!

The final heat of the Vic States was run and the podium places in the Cat rigs sorted.
The forecast looked bleak overnight, with soft Northerlies predicted and another high 30’s temp. But a beautiful 8-11kn greeted the fleet.
In the Sloops, Roe and Ada took the helm of their respective crafts, relishing in the ideal conditions! Roe 1st, Ada 2nd & Mark/Amelia 3rd.
In the Cat rigs, a fleet split by the twins initially looked a master stroke, but a spirited comeback from Demon who narrowly took the win. Fittingly, the top 3 positions of the race mirrored the final overall results of the series.
So final standings:
Cat rigs
1st Demon, 2nd Mick, 3rd Simon
Sloops
1st Ro’s, 2nd Richo’s, 3rd Sullivan’s

On to the race

On to the raceShortly after the start, a solid wind shift made the windward leg more of a shy reach, which meant you could power towards the top end. Just make sure to allow for the tide - it was PUMPING past the mark in true, light-winds-at-Rosebud fashion. And once...
